The event focuses on excellence in coffee and the promotion of the barista profession. Duly qualified judges will assess each performance based on criteria including taste, cleanliness, creativity, technical skill and overall presentation. The signature beverage, enables baristas to draw on their imagination to ravish the palates and integrate their extensive knowledge of coffee into a creation that reflects their taste and individual experiences.
The contest highlights artisan drip coffee, favouring hand brewed beans and excellent service. In this championship participants are required to prepare and serve three individual beverages for tasting by a panel of judges.
FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP OF Coffee IN Good Spirit
This championship aims to promote innovative recipes for beverages that highlight the association of coffee and spirits.
In the qualifying round participants are required to prepare four beverages – two identical hot beverages mixing coffee with an alcoholic drink and two identical cold beverages mixing coffee with an alcoholic drink.
This contest rewards the professional coffee taster (cupper) who will demonstrate the best speed, skills and accuracy in distinguishing between specialised coffees. Three cups are placed inside a triangle: 2 of the cups hold the same coffee the other one holds a different coffee. Based on skill, smell, taste, attention and experience, the cuppers will have to spot the odd one out in the triangle as fast as they can.
French Championship of Latte Art
This championship aims to highlight artistic expression. The baristas will produce a single creative model of Latte. Then they will move on to the WLAC stage to create two free identical lattes (engraving and decoration allowed)
